"It was really good. It was exciting," the 12 year old Lloyd George student said Monday. He joins first and second place competitors Laura Newcombe of Toronto and Veronica Penny of Rockland, Ont. Another round was scheduled until Graham took a second look at the test and pointed out he had spelled one more word correctly than Molly. "So we didn't do a tie breaker. He has a lot of studying ahead of him before the Scripps contest June 1 and 2. Graham said he's up to the task.
"I'm just happy to get to go," he said. "It's really tough." The Postmedia Canspell National Spelling Bee will be televised April 4 on the CBC as part of Spelling Night In Canada.
