10 Terrible Fashion Trends That Blew Up In Popularity In LA 93 Whether you a resident of Los Angeles or not, one thing is well known: Los Angeles' trendsetters and celebrity residents have been known to have fingers on the pulse of fashion trends.

When these trends are set, Angelenos are always ahead of the game and quick to jump on the freshest styles that come off the runway. It seems that just about everyone in Los Angeles is either hip to the latest trends, or creating them. While it's not always easy to pinpoint the origin glasses oakley of a fashion trend, its spread can almost always be traced back to Los Angeles' in vogue culture and popular celebrities. And, although most Angelenos are a stylish bunch that proudly boast having an up to the minute fashion consciousness, they are also guilty of spreading some of the most dreadful trends throughout the years. Here are the worst fashion trends that blew up in popularity in Los Angeles. For a fleeting moment in time, walking around in a velour track suit with an iced coffee in hand made most girls feel like Hollywood royalty. It wasn long before cheap imitations in a hideous range of colors hit the market and grandma was wearing one to the grocery store. It really doesn matter who makes them or what's printed on them, tracksuits have never been sexy. Although the creator of TOMS shoes deserves merit for selling his product to meet a philanthropic end, the return of these long buried "espadrilles" into popular fashion is excruciating. Back in 80's, after Miami Vice fans finally gave up donning these unsightly slip ons with slicked back greasy hairstyles, the trend was buried with hopes that it would never to be seen again. Without warning, the "espadrilles" rose from their grave with a fierce vengeance and oakley sunglasses green pungent popularity. They increasingly multiplied, taking on countless new forms, and continue to deliver hours of endless agony as eyesores. Even if some of us can't bear to see a pair, we just look away from these repugnant little canvas loafers knowing that their persistent existence is justified oakley cyber monday by their support of a good cause. While many ink lovers have a great deal of reverence for classic Japanese tattoo art, few can say they feel the same about the tattoo inspired designs of Ed Hardy clothing. Like many other Los Angeles trends, Ed Hardy gear became overexposed to the point of overkill when countless celebrities from Madonna and Paris Hilton to Zac Efron started showing up in paparazzi pictures rockin' the t shirts. Soon enough, the brand branched out into fragrances and accessories, over saturating the market, and becoming the signature look of douchey bros with highlighted faux hawks and gross goat patches under their lips. Even worse, the cast of MTV's Jersey Shore was hardcore about their Ed Hardy duds. Enough said. Oakley sunglasses were always hot among Los Angeles' surfers and beach volleyball players. Although they still popular now, they also became popular with truck drivin' burley dudes. You can always find these Oakley Blades hugging the back of some construction workers head at any Hooters happy hour. This dude is likely to hop out of a heavy duty pick up truck sporting cargo shorts, a polo shirt, utility boots and a blue tooth earpiece. Unfortunately, these guys gave the Oakley Blades a whole new connotation as the "go to" sunglasses of dads and deer hunters. Yet another celebrity trend that blew up in Los Angeles and never ceases to lose steam are Uggs. These goofy leather boots became hip leisurewear for many Los Angeles celebrities and have since become a staple of fall and winter fashion for everyone. It's ironic that the brand's name, "Uggs," has also become a substitute where can you buy oakley sunglasses for the word ugly in the Los Angeles vernacular. These fuzzy fashion faux pas are especially foul when worn publicly in a tasteless combination with pajama pants. Uggs are the ultimate offense in ladies lazy wear and should be scorched in blazing fire pit along with faded denim shirts and pumpkin spice. From Los Angeles' surfer and counter culture of the 60s and 70s, to the glam metal years of the 80s, bleached denim has been a re occurring trend. In fact, its history in California's culture has made it contagiously trendy all over the world. It seems like every time acid washed jeans make a comeback, they are worn in ever more ridiculous combinations. There is a freedom to wearing acid washed denim that gives the person wearing it a feeling that they can do no more wrong. Today, with their recent resurgence in the "normcore" fashion movement, bleached denim is being worn with windbreakers and Birkenstocks in what could possibly be the worst of all acid washed denim revivals. There's no denying that the popular yoga craze has roots in as far back as the 60 in California. But in recent years, yoga wear has broken out from the sweaty studios and hit the streets as everyday wear for ladies. Granted, yoga pants are comfortable, but wearing yoga pants to a business lunch meeting, or at the office is just plain lazy. It doesn't matter how expensive or dressy the giant oversized sweater that you throw over them is, they're still yoga pants. It doesn't matter that they have a button and can pass for casual dress pants at the office, they're still yoga pants. No matter how hard you try to pass them off in a fashionable way, yoga pants belong in the studio. The trend has become even more concerning with the emergency of Lululemon as men and women throughout Los Angeles have started to wear workout clothes throughout the day, even when they not coming from or going to the gym. Flannel shirts, ripped jeans, Steve Madden platform sandals, acid washed denim shorts, and black chokers have all made a fierce comeback as a 90 revival has swept through Los Angeles' hipster subculture. Ironically, these hipsters chose to romanticized a decade which wasn't exactly notable for cool trends. As a matter of fact, most people who are old enough to remember the 90 are all too eager to forget.

What's even more painful about this recent revival is the combination of oddly matched random 90 trends that never actually coexisted. A hodge podge of 90 grunge, goth, and urban styles, these comical costumes are carelessly thrown together by millennial hipsters trying to capture the spirit of Generation X. For the record, Blossom hats were never cool let lose those as soon as possible.
